Ted Wroth
Executive Director, Maryland Senior Olympics

Ted Wroth is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Maryland Senior Olympics. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the National Senior Games as the NE Region Representative.

Prior to this Mr. Wroth worked for thirty-two years as a Manager with the Montgomery County, MD Department of Recreation until his retirement in 2004. He was one of the founding board members of The First Tee of Montgomery County, Md. During his thirty-two years of service he initiated the Montgomery County Amateur Golf Championship as well as other youth and adult sports competitions.

Mr. Wroth also has twice been Chairman the Board of Regents of the N. C. State University School of Sports Management at Oglebay Park in West Virginia, been inducted into the Washington Metropolitan Slow Pitch Softball Hall of Fame and served as President of the Maryland Recreation and Parks Association, Inc.

Mr. Wroth has been a volunteer committee chair for the U.S. Open, U.S. Sr. Open, President’s Cup, Kemper Insurance Open and the Booz Allen Classic. Upon retirement from Montgomery County he was employed as the Director of Operations for the PGA TOUR’s 2004 and 2005 Booz Allen Classic.

He graduated with a B. A. from Shepherd University and earned a M. A. from The George Washington University.
